1. assiduous => as(to : 근접) + sid(sit : 앉다) + uous => 가까이에 앉다 => 근면한

3. abase => a(to : ~로) + bas(lower : 낮게) + e => 바닥 쪽으로 끌어내리다 => 지위를 낮추다.

4. accentuate => ac(intensive : 강조) + cent(sing : 노래하다) + uate => 큰 소리로 노래하다 => 강조하다

For example

5. accrue => ac(to : (서서히)부과) + cru(to increase : 늘어나다) + e => 서서히 늘어나다
