1. absolve => ab(away : 멀리) + solv(loosen : 느슨하게 하다, 풀다) + e =>(사람을) 죄로부터 풀어주다, 멀리하다  => 용서하다, 석방하다
                    absolve +sbdy + of(분리, 박탈의 of) + sth~

(syn) forgive, acquit, pardon, remit, exculpate, clear, liberate, exonerate
(ant) accuse, blame, condemn, prosecute, convict

absolve 용서하다	absolution 면제	absolute 절대의, 완전한
dissolve 녹이다	dissolution 용해, 와해	dissolute 방탕한
resolve 정하다	resolution 결정	(ir)resolute 결단력이 있는(없는)
solvent 용매, 녹일 수 있는	soluble 녹일 수 있는
insolvent 파산한(=bankrupt)	insoluble 용해되지 않는,	해결할 수 없는

For example

 Rather than trying to punish your father for the way he treated your mother, it's better for you to absolve him and get on with your own life. I'm not saying forget, only forgive.

 - get on with~ : 사이좋게 지내다, 일이 되게 하다

2. abstemious => abs(away : 멀리) + tem(tom(cut : 자르다)) + ious => 잘라서 멀리 갔다놓다 => 절제하는, 검소한

 I respect a person who lives moderately, but Nelson's stoic, penny-pinching ways are too much. He's beyond abstemious - he's masochistic!

 - penny-pinching : 지독한 구두쇠의
 - too much : 너무 지나친
 - masochistic : 자기 학대의

3. abject => ab(away : 멀리) + ject(throw : 던지다) => 멀리 던져진 => 비참한, 비열한

4. ablution => ab(intensive : 강조) + lu(wash : 씻다) + tion(명사형 어미) => 물로 확 씻다 => 목욕 재계
